This LED "Appears" as bright as my old 250W MH (which used 285W each) Between bulb replacement and electrical savings, this should save 0/year. Not to mention that LEDs DO create heat, but nothing like MH lamps. I was able to turn off my 1/4hp chiller with no overrun!! Notes: When it comes to reefkeeping "Bright" is not necessarily "Right" - color temp is very important. Time will tell if this setup works as well as I think it will. It looks Great - and I love the shimmer! I have a sudden urge to buy some light bulbs for some reason. I don't think there were nearly this many mentions of "Dark" in all six Star Wars movies combined. Finding all the dark/darkness words and editing them together was hell. If no one has done something for this game like this yet, I'm suprised, but I also understand. Drinking game: Try watching all the cutscenes for this mode and take a shot every time says "dark" or "darkness". Think you can last an hour?

Jeanna's Light

This is a modified version of Jeanna's Joule Thief FL driver circuit using a big 31/4" toroid coil. The circuit is running on one AA 1.5 volt battery. A modified 10 watt CFL bulb is being illuminated. The circuit shown in the video has an error in it. There is no connection between the transistor base and the circuit negative rail. A 100pf capacitor can be placed there and Jeanna used one. I just eliminated it and got the circuit to run with one less part. Information on her circuit can be found at the Energetic forum under the "Big Joule Thief" thread.

These light bulbs were all bought in Japan about 12 years ago. Because they are supposed to run on 120 volts, Tim is connecting two bulbs at a time in series. The UK mains voltage is 240 volts, but by connecting two bulbs in series, they end up getting a lower voltage passing through them. First up is an electric light bulb that is advertised as flickering like a real gas flame. The bulb contains a long filament inside, and there is a magnet attached to the outside of the bulb. Presumably as the alternating current flows to and fro, the magnetic field created in the filament is alternately attracted to and repelled by the magnet. We then have the Candy Light, and the Charm Light. Finally a spectrum stick bulb.

I recently added some power to my two key lights (now 300 Watt equivalent each). I am in the process of upgrading the lighting in my shop. It currently has a number of 4-lamp and 2-lamp T12 4-foot fluorescent fixtures. The best solution is to replace the ballast in each of these fixtures with high-efficiency electronic ballast (), and replace the lamps with T8 high-CRI bulbs. This will save energy, and greatly improve the quality of the light. LEDs and T5 fluorescent are MUCH more expensive to install, and their energy savings are not nearly enough to justify the cost. Remember that running a T8 with an electronic ballast will provide more light than it's nominal rating, which is for magnetic ballasts. T5 are always rated for electronic ballasts, so it is not a fair comparison. For new fixtures in my shop, the cheapest/best solution is to buy "shop lights" and replace the ballast. The total fixture cost is , and efficiency is 96 lumens/watt for a total output of almost 6000 lumens. It can't be beat! Commercially-available T8 fixtures with electronic ballasts are more expensive, and the quality of the ballast is suspect.

(glass part) Hold on the metal part. Touching the glass with bare hands may result in the globe overheating and burning out prematurely. www.homeimprovementsdepot.com A live LED light bulb demo and review. This is not a Phillips LED bulb as I mention in the video. It's actually a Leit Electric Utilitech LED bulb. LED light bulbs are coming down in price (from to or less) so I picked up one from my local Lowe's and figured I'd give it a try. Overall, it looks great compared to the CFL bulbs I was using. LED light bulbs don't get hot, use even less energy than most CFL light bulbs and have a warmer look to them which makes them much more like incandescent bulbs. The best feature is that you can usually use LED light bulbs with a dimmer. Dimming them does make them look a little more grey in color, but it's still a far cry better than the CFL light bulbs that dim. Check out my review to learn more!

Using Goethe's Theory of Colours (Zur Farbenlehre) as point of departure, Light Darkness and Colours takes us on a fascinating journey through the universe of colours. In 1704, Sir Isaac Newton published *Light and Refraction*, his study of the interactions between sunlight and prisms. Newton was, as a good scientist, intent on achieving objectivity, which meant studying sunlight in isolation. He thought colours were contained solely in light, and found the spectrum he was looking for. When he reproduced this experiment, Goethe found another, hidden set of colours missed by Newton. Goethe found the hidden colours in the boundaries between light and darkness. He felt, as an artist, that one could not talk about light without including darkness. Calling it 'the light-darkness polarity', Goethe made this new scientific discovery using artistic methods in conjunction with science.

This ball machine features 4 motorized lift towers spread across my room which split off into 19 different paths. To build this project, I spent over 0 to purchase literally over 9000 new k'nex pieces, allowing me to build this 25000 piece superstructure. Despite its massive size, The Labyrinth only takes up 2.5 square feet of floor space. This machine was designed by Austin Granger and Paul Davis, and was built by Austin Granger, Paul Davis, Sam Ihlenfeldt and Simon Olson. Feel free to use this as inspiration to build your own. The electrical stuff can be dangerous, so if you're not comfortable with wiring up the lights yourself, get some help just to be safe. 180 gallon mixed reef aquarium
180 gallon mixed reef aquarium Tube. Duration : 9.72 Mins.
This is my 180 gallon reef tank with a 125 gallon sump. The tank is almost two years old and doing great. I have four tangs and 16 mixed cromis, one lawnmower blennie, one diamond goby, two clown fish, two cardnals and lots of crabs and snails. Tank hardware is , two Euro-Reef RS-250 skimmers, one Geo 6-18 calcium reactor controlled by a litermeter III dosing pump and Reef-fanatic PH controller. one Geo Kalkwasser Reactor controlled by a litermeter III dosing pump. two Precision Marine media reactors one has GFO in it and one has carbon in it. one JBJ arctica 1/3 HP chiller, my lighting system is a Current fixture with three 250watt Metal Halide HQI double end bulbs, 8 T5 bulbs and 24 leds for night lights. My return pump is a Mag 18. Two powerheads in display tank are Hydor Koralia Magnum 7's controlled by a Red sea wavemaker. Refugium is 50 gallons with 50 pounds of live rock rubble and lots of macro algae, the refugium has a 96watt 65K light fixture above it. I monitor the Display tank and sump PH with two Pinpoint PH monitors. I have two large back-up battery systems for the reef tank there cyber-power 1500AVR's one will run the return pump for 5 to 7 hours and the other one wil run the heaters and powerheads for 8 to 10 hours. Well this is most of the stuff in my reef tank, Thanks.

They can be switched on and off very quickly, which gives nice opportunities for transmitting data." It is possible to encode data in the light by varying the rate at which the LEDs flicker on an off to give different strings of 1s and 0s. The modulation is so fast that the human eye doesn't notice. "There are over 14 billion light bulbs worldwide, they just need to be replaced with LED ones that transmit data". This may solve issues such as the shortage of radio-frequency bandwidth and also allow internet where traditional radio based wireless isn't allowed such as aircraft or hospitals. One of the shortcomings however is that it only work in direct line of sight.
